THERE are few certainties in life – death, taxes and that Oprah always knows best.

So when her sleep doctor, Dr Michael Breus, spills hacks on getting a good quality night’s rest, we welcome it with open arms.

In a chat with the Daily Mail, the sleep expert revealed he swears by a banana tea before bed to help you catch some zeds.

The recipe? “Take a chunk of organic banana, peel on, cut it in half and, with the stem and tip removed, brew it in boiling water for four minutes,” he said, before explaining it’s “loaded with magnesium, which is very calming and is a great replacement for camomile tea”.

We know that Jesinta Franklin is a fan of harnessing magnesium for sleep – putting magnesium oil on her feet each night before bed.

Magnesium oil has been gaining traction lately, with the health set espousing its many health benefits, some few which include boosting energy, calming nerves, aiding digestion, relieving muscular issues and even, in some people, preventing migraines.

So next time you find yourself counting sheep, you might be better off boiling bananas instead.
