Black Comedy, ABC, Wednesday, September 19, at 9.30pm

THIS sketch comedy series returns for a third season to continue its acerbic, witty and unapologetic exploration of what it means to be black in contemporary Australia.

Black Comedy veterans Aaron Fa-Aoso and Nakkiah Lui are joined by Darwin comedian David Woodhead, social commentator Nakuya Gorrie and Bush Tucker Bunjie’s Gabriel Willie.

Rounding out the core team of actors are Wayne Blair, Rarriwuy Hick and newcomer Maci-Grace Johnson.

New characters include Bondi Blackfella, a lifesaver who’s more at home on the land than in the water; the Boomerang Brothers, a pair of identical twins running a discount store; and Aunty Mary (Elizabeth Wymarra, pictured), a beautician of questionable talent.
