Bush goes Bavar­ian

TAMBO QCWA in­vites one and all to Ok­to­ber­fest in Tambo, a cel­e­bra­tion of de­li­cious Ger­man food and beer.

It’ll be the great­est party in town, with live mu­sic, games and prizes for those who step out in their best pair of leder­ho­sen.

Party buses will be rolling in from Black­all but book­ings are re­quired.

WAR­REGO Pony Club is gear­ing up for a huge sport­ing gymkhana.

All ages are wel­come to join in on their wide va­ri­ety of events, ei­ther rid­ing solo or as a team of three for their fea­ture event: the jack­pot team bar­rel race.

There are prizes on of­fer, and nom­i­na­tions can be

done on the day, but early nom­i­na­tions are al­ways ap­pre­ci­ated by the club. WHEN: Oc­to­ber 20 from 7.30am.

RFDS ball

ONE of the most an­tic­i­pated nights of the year is com­ing up fast.

So frock up and suit up for the Switched On Elec­tri­cal Han­gar Ball.

Tick­ets have sold out, but those who did snag them will be rais­ing the roof and rais­ing funds for a life­line in the bush.

WHEN: Oc­to­ber 20, from 5pm. WHERE: RFDS han­gar.

Wine time

AN­OTHER fancy af­fair will be held in Au­gathella later this month.

This time it is a wine ap­pre­ci­a­tion work­shop, fol­lowed by an art show, com­edy show, and auc­tion.

The quadrella of en­ter­tain­ment is be­ing put on by the Au­gathella Cul­tural As­so­ci­a­tion, as part of their drought detox pro­gram.

As well as be­ing a bit of fun for ev­ery­one in town, the event dou­bles as a fundraiser to keep Au­gathella’s cul­tural ser­vices alive.
