IN­TER­ESTED in the com­mu­nity and all things cre­ative?

The Cre­at­ing Queens­land’s Fu­ture fo­rum is set­ting up shop in Charleville soon to con­sult with the com­mu­nity on cre­at­ing a 10-year road map for the arts, cul­tural and cre­ative sec­tor.

Sort out your ser­vices

A Depart­ment of Hu­man Ser­vices mo­bile ser­vice cen­tre is mak­ing its way around the south­west.

Staff will be able to help with Cen­tre­link, Medi­care, Veter­ans’ Af­fairs, and ac­cess­ing on­line ser­vices.

There will also be a Farm House­hold case of­fi­cer and so­cial worker who to help with Farm House­holds Al­lowance claims.

Take a swing in the mid-sea­son

AS a fun way of cel­e­brat­ing the mid-sea­son, Charleville Soft­ball As­so­ci­a­tion is hold­ing a Fri­day night fun night.

The usual sus­pects will be there for a se­ries of friendly games, and will be wel­com­ing any in­di­vid­u­als who want to have a hit along with them.

A fund rais­ing bar­be­cue will be siz­zling away to feed hun­gry play­ers while also rais­ing some dough for the club.

Ru­ral Day Off for farm­ing fam­i­lies

DROUGHT An­gels is com­ing to Mor­ven in early De­cem­ber to pro­vide a dif­fer­ent kind of re­lief to farm­ing fam­i­lies in the area.

The Ru­ral Day Off will in­vite fam­i­lies for a day off the prop­erty, where Drought An­gels will take care of food, en­ter­tain­ment and a bit of self-care for the day. WHERE: Mor­ven.

Christ­mas lights tour of town

IT’S BACK for a jolly good time in 2018 – the 4RRFM Charleville Christ­mas Light com­pe­ti­tion and tour.

Those in­ter­ested are asked to meet at 4RRFM on the cor­ner of Wills and Ed­ward streets, Charleville, at 6.30pm to join in the con­voy tour.

4RRFM will be broad­cast­ing live as it leads the tour.

Don’t wait, nom­i­nate your mates

THERE are won­der­ful peo­ple in the com­mu­nity who do in­cred­i­ble things, of­ten never ask­ing for recog­ni­tion or fan­fare.

But one day is ap­proach­ing where they can be recog­nised: the Mur­weh Shire Aus­tralia Day Achieve­ment Awards.

Lo­cals can nom­i­nate any per­son, group or even an event who has achieved some­thing spe­cial in the past year, or makes an on­go­ing con­tri­bu­tion to the com­mu­nity.
