When Henry Ford in­vented the au­to­mo­bile, he rev­o­lu­tionised mass pro­duc­tion to make cars af­ford­able and re­li­able; he did not lobby on rais­ing taxes for horse own­ers.

Maybe Mit­subishi (‘Con­ges­tion charges will help plug-in car sales’; Wheels­ should im­prove the tech­nol­ogy and pric­ing struc­ture, rather than hope to price out proven tech­nol­ogy? Also, if every­one switched to elec­tric cars to­mor­row, can one imag­ine the strain on our elec­tric­ity sup­ply in Vic­to­ria? Gary Lee, via Face­book
