Boxster Spyder to score a six-pot
There are some who have never quite come to terms with Porsche’s 718 series switching to turbocharged four-cylinder engines. Thankfully for these lead-footed Luddites, Weissach has decided to squeeze a six-cylinder engine into the bowels of the latest Boxster Spyder. The flagship Boxster is expected to share the same 4.0-litre atmo six – mooted to be a detuned version of the 911 GT3’S powerplant – with the forthcoming Cayman GT4. It’s also believed that the car will be offered only as a six-speed manual.
