Caddy invokes Kombi

Volkswagen has converted its cute Caddy commercial into a unique Beach camper variant for lovers of the outdoors, drawing a line back to its halcyon Kombi days. Priced from $44,990, the Caddy Beach has folding rear seats to accommodate a bespoke bed, a tent with standing room that zips onto the tailgate and even a set of folding camping furniture for two. Nocturnal antics are hidden via tailored blinds, storage pods hang from the rear windows and a built in rechargeable torch are all included. Beyond the bush mods, the Beach shares its spec with the 1.4-litre petrol Maxi Trendline.
