Lucien Bianchi – great-uncle of the late Jules – was in the news this June when a 1963 Ferrari 250 GTO was privately bought for a record US$70 million, by US automotive floormats baron, David Macneil. Acclaimed as the most original of the 36 250 GTOS built, chassis 4153 GT was driven by Bianchi to victory in the 1964 Tour de France Automobile (a race he won three times). In August, another 250 GTO sold at Pebble Beach for an auctionrecord US$48.4M.
