Corolla’s designer dash is modern and minimalist, yet nicely functional too due to buttons rather than infuriating touch sensors. Plastic wheel and instrument dials look cheap enough for Hilux duty, but sumptuous seating, ample space and nextlevel refinement make Ascent Sport relaxing and inviting. But rear doors lack storage and boot capacity is a piddling 217L with a full-sized spare fitted. Hybrids ditch spare altogether for inflation kit, for a more workable 333L. This should be available on regular variants too. Expect Toyota to sort it quickly.
