AMG’S straightsix shooter

Mercedes-amg’s local line-up now features the highly anticipated 3.0-litre turbo straight-six engine, with the E53 sedan, coupe and cabriolet now offered with the donk which made its local debut in the CLS450. In E53 guise, the engine alone makes 320kw and 520Nm, with an extra 16kw/250nm delivered from the devilishly complex internal starter motor/alternator and with help from the electric compressor system to further eliminate any sniff of turbo lag. The range starts at $167,129 for the four-door sedan.
