Ford Falcon scores 17th title

The Aussie Ford Falcon has left the Supercars championship on a high, with Scott Mclaughlin winning the drivers’ championship for DJR Team Penske in Newcastle. Mclaughlin’s win is the 17th for a Falcon in Australian touring car history, moving it one past the Holden Commodore in the all-time title tally. Ford teams will race Mustangs in next year’s championship, against Holden’s ZB Commodore, which finished runner-up in the 2018 title fight at the hands of fellow Kiwi Shane van Gisbergen.
