1 Anti barn stormer
Citroen hid many of the 250 TPV prototypes from the Nazis in 1939; three were found in 1994 in a barn near La Ferté-vidame proving ground.
2 He’s a clever cogs
The production engine and gearbox were designed by Walter Becchia, whose CV included the Sunbeam dohc six that won the French and Spanish GPS in 1923.
3 Lean on me
The 2CV was famed for its plush ride – and the bodyroll. They say you can spot a 2CV driver by the gravel rash on his elbows.
4 Anyone for doubles?
Most unusual 2CV? That’d be the Sahara 4x4, equipped with separate, complete drivetrains front and rear. Almost 700 were built, from 1960-’71.
5 Circuit breaker
The 2CV may not be fast, but it’s sporty: the 2CV Racing series (est. 1980) is one of the UK’S oldest one-make championships.
