THE VICTORY OF the Mazda CX-30 in COTY confuses me. In the October 2020 issue, the VW T-Roc narrowly won a comparison test against the CX-30 G25 Astina. Andy Enright praised the pleasant luxury of the CX-30, but stated the VW was the more engaging drive. If Wheels still values the passion of driving, then I would have thought that the VW may have at least made the COTY starting grid.
John, despite every other manufacturer going to great pains during the pandemic to provide cars for Car of the Year, Volkswagen rejected our request for a T-Roc to be part of our testing.
