■ LONE PINE KOALA SANCTUARY.
At Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary you can cuddle a koala in a delightful bushland setting on the edge of the Brisbane River at Fig Tree Pocket. Officially recognised by Guinness World Records, Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary is the world’s first and largest koala sanctuary, with more than 80 years’ experience and 130 koalas.

SIR THOMAS BRISBANE PLANETARIUM.
Founded by Brisbane City Council in 1978, the Sir Thomas Brisbane Planetarium is a must-see attraction for science lovers. Take in one of the shows in the Cosmic Skydome, a 12.5-metre-diameter projection dome. Current shows include ‘Starlight’, ‘Capturing the Cosmos’ and ‘Cosmic Collisions’. Each show includes the main feature and a tour of Brisbane’s night sky which is recreated in the Cosmic Skydome. The planetarium can be found in the Brisbane Botanic Gardens at Mt Coot-tha.

QUEENSLAND MARITIME MUSEUM.

QUEENSLAND MUSEUM & SCIENCENTRE.
As the home of Queensland’s state collection and a worldclass research institution in the fields of biodiversity, geosciences and cultures and histories, Queensland Museum shares the story of our state through a fascinating range of exhibitions and programs for visitors. Queensland Museum is also home to the Sciencentre, where hands-on activities put you in the driver’s seat as you explore the science behind everyday life. ■ CITY BOTANIC GARDENS. With their impressive colonial history, plant collections and riverside location, the City Botanic Gardens are a much beloved part of the cityscape. The City Botanic Gardens are only a 10 to 15 minute walk from the city centre and Central or Roma Street railway stations. ■ ROMA STREET PARKLAND. One of Brisbane’s treasures, Roma Street Parkland is a breathtaking oasis in the heart of the city. The largest subtropical parkland in an urban environment in the world, its diverse themed gardens reflect the variety of the Australian landscape. The Parkland also features Australia’s largest outdoor collection of public art. Admission is free, and free-guided tours operate daily at 11am and 1pm.
