The new ex­hi­bi­tion at the Aus­tralian Mu­seum, “Whales | To­horā” mixes sci­ence, sto­ry­telling and in­no­va­tive tech­nol­ogy to make the lat­est whale re­search ac­ces­si­ble to all ages. The ex­hi­bi­tion show­cases one of the most ex­ten­sive and largest col­lec­tions of whale skele­tons ever, in­clud­ing a mas­sive 18m skele­ton of a sperm whale; a dozen beaked whale skulls; skele­ton casts of an­cient whale an­ces­tors, and fin whale ribs and ver­te­brae. Learn about the sto­ries of the First Na­tions peo­ple, the im­por­tance of whales in South Pa­cific Is­lan­der his­tory as well as the di­ver­sity and bi­ol­ogy of these mag­nif­i­cent crea­tures.
