Money better spent

Whitsunday Times - - YOUR SAY -

NICE of the government to give us all that money.

Five million seems a lot for a new Shire Hall, until I read about it in the paper I thought the old one was still standing, maybe I need to go to Spec Savers.

A few days after Cyclone Debbie we were around the back of the place and a whole lot of furniture had been thrown out, it looked perfectly okay and not even wet.

Maybe some of that money could be used to finish the entertainment centre so the taxpayers have a venue to use.

The money for the reef – some of that would be better used donated to CQ Rescue, Flying Doctor or other organisations helping people, then they might not have to fundraise to keep going.

Did everyone know that there have been at least one hundred undersea earthquakes in the last 12 months?

Will the money stop them happening?

Flood proofing Hamilton Plains, I would love to know how they propose to do that.

It is a flood plain, the river is tidal so with lots of rain and high tide where is the water going to go?

Fix that and you still won’t get to the airport.
