Air­lie Bridge Club gets good num­bers at the ta­ble

BRIDGE: Last Tues­day night we had three and a half ta­bles with visi­tors Joy El­lis and Pru Purser mak­ing up the num­bers which was very grat­i­fy­ing.

There were four boards played in spades by every­one and four NT by one.

There was one slam in NT which was bid and made and one in Di­a­monds.

There were two grand slam of NT to be bid but they were only bid to game but won 13 tricks any­way.

The win­ners on the night were Gil­lian Blackie and Dewi Hughes with 60.42 per cent fol­lowed by Cor­rie Gard­ner and He­len Alt­man with 54.17 per cent and Dale Hell and Eric Bot­tle with 52.08 per cent which means all will get some master points.

Dale Hell said it was great to see new play­ers up there with the ex­pe­ri­enced play­ers and con­tin­u­ing to hold their own.

On Fri­day morn­ing we had an­other good roll up with two and half ta­bles and some very com­pet­i­tive bridge played.

The win­ners were Neil Cawthorne and An­nie Vaughan with 65 per cent fol­lowed by Gil­lian Blackie and Joy El­lis with 57.50 per cent and then Re­nate and Sigi Feige with 55 per cent.
