For­bid­den love put to the test

A NEW batch of star-crossed lovers and their dis­ap­prov­ing rel­a­tives will fea­ture in the sec­ond sea­son of Seven’s con­tro­ver­sial re­al­ity se­ries.

Last year’s de­but sea­son of the show made head­lines as view­ers watched peo­ple like Chris, a gay man mar­ry­ing the love of his life whose par­ents re­fused to par­tic­i­pate in his wed­ding.

This year there’s Philippa, whose par­ents worry her fi­ance Ryan, 19 years her ju­nior, is a gold dig­ger.

Sea­son two ups the ten­sion, with the six cou­ples stay­ing to­gether at a re­treat and tak­ing part in ther­apy ses­sions guided by re­la­tion­ship ex­pert Leanne Hall.

It’s go­ing to be in­tense view­ing, with tear­ful con­fronta­tions and walk­outs as the cou­ples and their fam­i­lies go head to head.
