Sensational score means joy for Lewis
PROSERPINE GOLF: Saturday’s Reef Gateway Hotel men’s monthly medal and medal on medals was won by Lewis Tuck with a great score of 62 nett.
Lew also was the A-grade winner, from runner up Nic Langevad on 66.
B-grade was taken out by Kevin Duffey on 64, from Trevor Paroz on 67 and the C-grade winner was Jim Grace on 66 from Dean Kercher 67.
Place getters on what was a good day of golf at Proserpine were Kevin Campbell and Theunis Venter, 68, Peter Faust, Lance Lloyd and Peter Krause, 70, Vic Feldman, Rod Wecker, Paul Douthwaite, Mark Schubert and Chris Brett all on 71 completed the run down.
The pin shots for the day went to Danny York on two, Dean Kercher on nine, Jake Nurse 13 and Michael Cragg on 16.
The ladies’ winner was Trish McNeill with nett 72, on a count back from Wendy Bradley.
The place getters were Pam Casey and Penny Wardroper, both with 75, Pauline Redpath, 77 and Jill Farinelli 78.
The pin shot went to Heather Luvis on hole number nine.
Thursday’s men’s stableford attracted only 26 players, with the 18-hole competition winner being Vic Feldman with 42 points, from runner up Paul Nicol on 41. Other place getters were Brendon Meharry and Peter Fox on 40, Brian Smith and Perri Simpson 39 and Tim McBride 37 on a count back.
The pin shots went to Albert Pini on two, Ron Jamieson, nine, Tim McBride 13 and Nic Langevad on 16.
The nine-hole competition was won by Lew Tuck with 22 points, from Brendon Meharry and Jim Grace, both on 20.
On Wednesday 28th, 14 ladies played a single stableford with Pauline Redpath on 37 points winning from Heather Luvis, 36 on a count back from Tessa Aitken.
Paula McQuat 34, Penny Wardroper 33, and Wendy Bradley 31 completed the run down.
The pin shots went to Wendy Bradley on nine and Marlene Gray on 16.
Next Saturday will be a single stableford event.
