Rivers and coastal creeks
PROSERPINE River has had great numbers of crabs moving with the big tides and recent floodwaters.
As for fishing in the Proserpine River, I haven’t heard of much apart from a few anglers catching barramundi in the upper reaches of the river as the river is in flood.
Coastal creeks around Airlie Beach have been the place to have a fish with great numbers of mangrove jack biting well in all of the coastal creeks with anglers reporting them hitting lures and dead baits.
Anglers have also been catching a few barramundi in the coastal creeks and flathead around the mouths of the creeks. Shingley Beach has been fishing well with good size whiting and flathead being caught off the beach on the run-in tide.
