Our top 10 quirky yarns are online

Whitsunday Times - - YOUR SAY -

THE new year marked six months since I started as editor of the Whitsunday Times, Whitsunday Coast Guardian and the Bowen Independent.

It has been a period marked by tragedy and triumphs, but with the spirit of the new year in mind, I took a look back at my top 10 quirky yarns from the Whitsundays since July 2018.

The list illustrates that our famous stablemates at the NT News aren’t the only ones with a mortgage on intriguing yarns.

Two stories involving pythons are there, along with a tale featuring a croc and a shark in the Proserpine River, which dominated the headlines in November. Even Whitsunday MP Jason Costigan pops up with an appearance in the top 10.

Visit www.whitsunday times.com.au to check out the list.

CHEEKY: A little spotted python which appeared in a bathtub plughole in Jubilee Pocket features in the top 10 quirky yarns.
