While the actor, 45, stars in the big-screen version of Baywatch (out now), he tells WHO’S Julie Jordan about his life non-aquatic.
You are WHO’S US sister magazine People’s sexiest man alive. Do you ever get starstruck?
It was finally meeting Steven Spielberg backstage at SNL [ Saturday Night Live] when I hosted the [season] finale. I’m usually composed, but I get excited. Steven stuck his hand out to shake mine, and I’m like, “Hey, put that away. Get in here!”
Do you have any recurring dreams?
I used to have one where I made it to the NFL. I’m in the Super Bowl or a play-off game and I get ready to run out of the tunnel and I only have one cleat. It was always something. I never actually made it onto the field. Ever.
How do your kids react to seeing you onscreen?
Part of [17-month-old daughter] Jasmine’s night routine is watching videos and she loves seeing me on Lip Sync Battle when I did Taylor Swift. It plays on rotation, so about every 48 hours I have to do my “Shake It Off” dance for her.
You also have fun with your dog.
My big toe and my second toe are like clamps. So like a little shark in the water, I go up behind Hobbs and I clamp the back of his leg. He barks like an alien, and it makes me laugh so hard.
When was your last moment of bliss?
My 15-year-old daughter, Simone, was my date at the People’s Choice Awards, and when I won she gave me the biggest hug and kiss. I didn’t know someone had captured that moment. She posted it on my birthday and her caption was beautiful. I remember waking up and seeing it and thinking, “Wow, this is the greatest present I could receive.”
