Sneak peeks, spoilers and fest superheroes feature at the annual fan
Facing throngs of passionate fans at the annual pop-culture event Comic-con, “It’s a bit overwhelming,” said Cate Blanchett, there to talk up her role as Goddess of Death Hela alongside Chris Hemsworth in Thor: Ragnarok. “The fan base for these things, it’s huge— it’s kind of terrifying.”
For Hemsworth, working opposite Blanchett was the most daunting part: “It was wildly intimidating but
she is one of my favourite people on the planet,” he told reporters at the San Diego gathering. “It’s nice to meet your heroes and it be as good as you’d hoped.”
Speaking of heroes, while introducing a trailer for DC’S new offering Justice League, featuring Ben Affleck’s Batman alongside Gal Gadot’s Wonder Woman, Affleck addressed rumours he was set to be ushered out of the role of Caped Crusader, which is expected to continue in Matt Reeves’s solo-superhero film The Batman. “My status remains what it always is,” he explained. “I’ve done the two movies. I’ve always intended on doing a third if Warners wants to make it. Certainly, if the Batphone rings, I will answer.”
