THE FATE OF THE FURIOUS 9
STARRING: Vin Diesel
The eighth Fast & Furious movie, and the first without the late Paul Walker, initially has some trouble under the hood. The central plot is terrible: Diesel, looking like a giant having a prolonged sulk, is forced to go rogue and carry out nation-threatening deeds for cybervillain Charlize Theron. So, no, it’s not Baby Driver. But there are plenty of exciting, outlandish race-and-chase scenes, including one in which a huge wrecking ball swings back and forth through traffic, knocking out cars as if they were bowling pins.
