Like The Godfather’s Michael Corleone, Maleficent’s daughter Mal (Cameron) has trouble resisting the tug of past family awfulness. In this sequel to the Disney Channel’s hit 2015 fairytale, she flees a nice romance with a prince and heads back to her old base, the Isle of the Lost, which is also home to The Little Mermaid’s Ursula and her bad-apple kid Uma (China Anne Mcclain). None of this makes much sense, but the songs are catchy as anything. (Airs Fri., July 28, 6.30 PM; Disney Channel)
