How the pair stayed close after Michael’s death
P ARIS JACKSON AND her godfather Macaulay Culkin are now permanently linked—with ink. On July 29, Michael Jackson’s daughter, 19, and the actor, 36, got matching spoon tattoos at West Hollywood’s Tattoo Mania. While theories arose online as to what their cryptic new utensil body art represents, a source
tells WHO, “The spoons are an inside joke between the two of them.” While the model’s arm is full of artwork—jackson has previously said she has more than 50 tattoos—the fresh ink is the sole marking on Culkin’s forearm. In June, Jackson got the word “Applehead” inked on her left foot—a term of endearment she and those close to the late singer would affectionately call him. “With every step I take, you lift my foot and guide me forward,” she captioned an Instagram shot of the tattoo, written in cursive across the top of her foot. “Love you.”
The tattoo trip was just the latest outing for the close pair, who have been spotted hanging out together in Jackson’s home base Los Angeles and Culkin’s native New York, with the former taking to social media to document their quality time. Having struggled with a number of issues (including, she says, depression, drug addiction and suicide attempts) while in high school, Jackson is settling into life in the spotlight, signing with IMG models in March. Culkin, who has described his relationship with the late Michael Jackson as “unique,” is familiar with the pitfalls of growing up in the public eye. “It’s a blessing and a curse,” the Home Alone actor has said. “You know, I am a former child actor. I’m supposed to be a lot more f--ked up than I am.”
Another thing to bond over: new film projects. Culkin will appear in an upcoming Seth Green film, and Jackson will make her big-screen debut in the 2018 action flick Gringo. Says a family frend: “She’s the happiest I’ve ever seen her.”
