STARRING: Andre Leon Talley

WHO - - The List -

This beautifully-crafted film chronicles the remarkable life of the former Vogue editor-at-large, from his childhood in the segregated Jim Crow South to his rise in New York’s Studio 54 art scene and emergence as fashion’s pre-eminent voice. Against the backdrop of the 2016 US presidential election, Talley, who has always projected fierce wit and confidence, finally reveals how he internalised racism and regretted missing out on love on his way to becoming a pioneer. Even so, he is, as says, “the Kofi Annan of what you got on.” (Out now)

Director Kate Novack captures the essence of the flamboyant Talley, now 68.
