The superstar on body after baby, staying off the scales & why she couldn’t be happier

Wearing a simple red floral bikini and a sun-smart brimmed hat, Pink was the picture of health and happiness as she enjoyed a family beach day on a welldeserved mini-break during her Australian tour. The singer soaked up the sun with husband Carey Hart, 43, and their children, daughter Willow, 7, and son Jameson, 19 months, during a getaway in the luxe beach retreat of Byron Bay. Arriving in the nearby northern NSW town of Ballina on a private flight on July 29, the days of downtime came after a nine-concert leg of her Beautiful Trauma tour in Melbourne.

Looking toned and fit, the 38-year-old has been vocal about loving and embracing her body shape. “Would you believe I’m 160 pounds [72.5kg] and 5’3” [1.6m]? By ‘regular standards’ that makes me obese,” she posted months after Jameson was born. “I know I’m not at

my goal or anywhere near it after Baby 2 but dammit I don’t feel obese.” In fact, she added, “the only thing I’m feeling is myself” as she urged women to ease up on weight watching: “Stay off the scales ladies!”

While the singer told Women’s Health magazine in 2013 she’d like to be 5kg lighter, the semi-vegetarian (“I haven’t eaten anything four-legged or cute since I was 15”) is now “totally OK” with her body.

The rock star—who once said her energetic onstage shows were her “favourite workouts”—works hard to stay in shape and maintain her physique. While on tour, “I eat a lot because I work out four-and-a-half hours a day: a two-hour show, plus yoga, cardio,” she reveals.

Which makes getaways in between concerts a must—for her physical and emotional wellbeing.

In a recent interview with Reese Witherspoon for her new Shine On With Reese TV talk show, Pink conceded that touring with her children was an “exhausting” balancing act. “It’s the hardest thing I’ve ever done, but I’m very, very fortunate that I get to bring my kids with me and that I kind of get to integrate them into my life.”

For the kids, touring with Mum opens up a world of fun, including visiting an animal petting farm in Western Australia’s Swan Valley, jumping on the trams to check out the sights of Melbourne and enjoying beach days in Byron Bay. Says Pink of life as a mother: “I’m happier than I’ve ever been.”
