BEAUTY TALK WITH MIRANDA KERR
The model mum shares her multitasking beauty secrets
Congratulations on your new baby boy, Hart. How is Flynn, 7, adapting to being a big brother? He loves it … He’s so cute. It’s so cute to see him with his little brother, he’s so gentle with him and very caring. Have you had to streamline your skincare routine with a newborn? Well, there’s definitely less time … in between feeding and burping! [ Laughs] I have this little crib on wheels and I just roll it into the bathroom and put him in there while I’m in the shower. If I have time, I can do my little scrub while I’m in the shower, but otherwise I will just put the brightening on as a mask and leave it while I’m breastfeeding or getting Flynn ready, and then I’ll jump in the shower and wash it off. Did you notice any changes in your skin after pregnancy? Well, for both pregnancies I used the [Kora] body oil on my skin and it’s been amazing and this time I used a combination of the oil and balm, which was so good for preventing stretch marks. I also noticed more pigmentation each time with my skin – that’s one of the reasons why I developed this new two-in-one mask, it’s natural and organic, but helps with pigmentation. What’s your advice to new mums on skincare? I just keep it simple, you know, cleanse, mist, moisturise and then put my face oil on. My products are quick and easy to use and super healthy, that’s just what I need in my life – quick steps to beautiful skin. You’re very passionate about organic options. Because what you put on your skin goes directly into your bloodstream, so I feel education is key. If you start by reading the ingredients on the back of everything, then you can make an educated choice. What’s your favourite treatment? Definitely massages. Sometimes I get oxygen facials, but I haven’t had one in a long time. [ Laughs] What does your perfect day off look like? I’m a homebody so just being at home with my boys and making a little picnic out on the grass – really enjoying having a simple day together, because to me that’s what it’s all about. Being under a tree, being in the sunshine, swimming in the pool … Just being together.
