Seven months after their public break-up, Justin finally speaks up

They called quits on their marriage in February after spending seven years together and tying the knot in 2015. After playing out their relationship in full view of the public, Jennifer Aniston and Justin Theroux released a joint statement earlier this year announcing their separation, which read, “This decision was mutual and lovingly made at the end of last year.”

Now, Theroux has broken his silence on the break-up and opened up to The New York Times about what he says really happened – admitting that the whirlwind of speculation from the public about their split was “just on crack and steroids.”

Instead, Theroux clarified that he and Aniston, 49, both ended their relationship on good terms. “It was kind of the most gentle separation, in that there was no animosity,” the 47-year-old told the publication. “We respected each other enough that it was as painless as it could be.” Now, the actor maintains the pair are still close after going their separate ways. “It was heartbreaking, only in the sense that the friendship would not be the same, as far as just the day to day,” Theroux said in the interview. “But the friendship is shifting and changing, you know, so that part is something that we’re both very proud of.”

She is happy to focus on work.”

This comes after a source close to the Hollywood actress revealed in February that “She didn’t expect to be single again. She hates all the media attention that she knows she will get now. But she is a big believer in falling in love and spending her life with a partner that loves sharing hers.” The actress has spent recent months in Europe, filming alongside co-star Adam Sandler (who she starred with in comedy Just Go With It in 2011) for their new movie Murder Mystery, which has required them to travel to Canada and Italy. “She has been working long days but loves being in Europe,” another insider reveals to WHO. “She has had friends with her, including Chris [Mcmillan].”

During her European working holiday, the star has been keeping a low profile, possibly to avoid tabloid headlines and pressure to address her love-life. She was recently photographed visiting her long-time close friends George and Amal Clooney at their Italian residence in Lake Como and the
