SPRING TO IT!
Expert tips for the hottest hair and makeup looks to get you on-trend this season
After a long season of over-drying and styling winter hair, we are ready to get back to the effortless locks that spring and summer call for. Lauren Mccowan, Global Director of Evo is on-hand to share her expert tips to get hair on track and on-trend for the warmer weather ahead.

“Spring is the season of rebirth and rejuvenation, so it’s time to hydrate and replenish your hair after the drying months of winter,” says Mccowan, who’s focus is on treatments like Olaplex to get your hair in the best possible condition. “Effortless, healthy hair is the perfect canvas for accessorising with chic details such as fresh flowers, hair beads and hair jewellery. Good-quality hair jewellery has become as chic as a good pair of investment earrings. I use Kela hair beads and accessories to perfect a spring outfit the same way I would a beautiful pair of Chanel earrings.”
CURRENT COLOURS
Now is the time to start amping up hair treatments to get hair in top condition and ready to embrace new colouring trends. “Starting to lighten and brighten up the hair in prep for summer means on-trend colours like micro lights and perfectly blended balayage in natural and warmer tones to freshen up the skin and add dimension in the lead up to summer,” says Mccowan.

HAPPY HAIR
Mccowan says it’s important to treat and feed your hair in the same way you would your skin. Try and focus on the inside and outside, incorporating good quality supplements like collagen and silica that can help keep the skin and hair follicles healthy. “Hair treatments like Olaplex 4 & 5 shampoo and conditioner are amazing to help protect colour and retain quality hair,” says Mccowan, who also recommends using a hydrating treatment such as Evo Great Hydrator to help keep hair moisturised and lustrous without weighing it down.
RACE READY
Race day is traditionally associated with amazing millinery and fascinators of every shape and size, but Mccowan is predicting a slight change to these traditional racing staples, with crowns and delicate hair jewellery becoming a stylish alternative. “Beautiful, delicate crowns and hair beads that can be used in place of a beautiful necklace or pair of earrings are a gorgeous investment that can be used over and over again in multiple different ways. Kela has fast become a staple of my hair kit to embellish all types of styles and looks to add a level of detail and luxury.”
