You’re Lady Gaga’s go-to makeup artist – she’s always so experimental with her look. Is she a lot of fun to work with?
She is an artist’s dream. She is the most fun to work with in every way.
What’s been your favourite look that you have done with her?
I really loved creating the Countess from American Horror Story. It wasn’t just one look, it was actually 68 looks in one season of television. It was so hard, but so fun. I really got to bring fun fashion makeup to the small screen.
What’s the best thing about your job?
That my creativity actually helps people feel better.
The craziest location you’ve worked on?
I’ve done makeup in cornfields, deserts, aeroplanes, just about anywhere you could think of!
What’s it like working with Marc Jacobs Beauty?
It’s honestly been a gift in my life. It has always been a dream to have a beauty contract, and it needed to feel right for my work. There is no better fit out there for me. Our collaborations together have always been so genuine. They have all become my family.
Any favourite products?
That is a really hard thing to ask. I have a lot of favourites. One thing I use in almost every makeup look is the Velvet Noir Major Volume Mascara. It’s a mascara you can trust. The longest fullest lashes, that never flake. Before this came out I would use like three mascaras in a makeup look to create the same lash I get from this.
Your current beauty muse?
Lady Gaga What beauty look are you loving at the moment? Actually seeing the skin through the makeup.
A trend that you’re glad to see the back of?
The liquid lipstick craze.
