Young royals
Rich, youthful and out of control
While we may know the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have ruffled a few feathers by breaking a number of royal protocols of late, there is a whole family tree filled with young royals who have money at their disposal and aren’t afraid of a little scandal. Meet the entitled offspring who have ventured out of their aristocratic circle to be involved in everything from drug-filled benders to hooking up with rappers and posing nude, on several occasions.
Dubbed The Most Beautiful Royal by Tatler magazine, Lady Amelia Windsor, 23, was once caught sunbathing topless in Ibiza. The third cousin of Prince William, she’s 38th in line for the throne, is known as a bit of an Instagram star and even has a tattoo of a tiger on her left shoulder and three animals on her wrist.
But that does not compare to 24-year-old Pauline Ducruet, the daughter of Princess Stephanie and granddaughter of Princess Grace of Monaco, who has a passion for ink, having had six tattoos done.
And although flashing body art isn’t traditionally seen in royal families, Talita von Furstenberg, the granddaughter of fashion designer Diane von Furstenberg and German aristocrat Prince Egon von Furstenberg, has become particularly known for flashing the flesh in her bikini-clad displays on social media. The American-born beauty, 19, has racked up over 130K followers from her racy swimsuit pictures!
Just behind her comes Arthur Chatto, the son of Lady Sarah and Daniel Chatto, and grandson of Princess Margaret. He’s hit the headlines for posting sexy pictures of himself in nothing but a pair of Calvin Kleins to his Instagram account. The 19-year-old is 24th in line for the throne, and he set the internet alight with his gym-honed physique.
Closer to home, Prince Nikolai of Denmark, 19 – who is seventh in line to the Danish throne – was turfed out of Australian night club Jade Buddha for not brandishing his ID.
What good would an exposing piece be without an illegitimate child?
Jazmin Grace Grimaldi, 26, is the daughter of Prince Albert of Monaco, but she cannot claim the throne as she was born out of wedlock. The prince only recognised her as his daughter when she was 14 years old. She currently lives in New York and recently shared her story with Harper’s Bazaar about finding out she was the daughter of a prince.
“I was 14, getting ready to go to high school, when it hit the media that my father had a daughter, and it was me,” said Jazmin, who has learned to deal with press attention. “It’s a difficult time for any young adult, and it was an adjustment to have that attention. But I knew it was going to come someday.”
Someone else who had little problem adjusting to the public’s attention was Princess Diana’s handsome nephew Louis Spencer. The cousin of Prince Harry hit the headlines when he stepped out to a Nikki Minaj concert. The 24-year-old posed up a storm with the rapper, which she later posted to Instagram with the caption: “The Royal Family stopped by. @louisspencer Nephew of Princess Diana – he said he wants to marry me.”
A-listers aside, Princess Diana’s niece Lady Kitty Spencer, 27, has earned her own bit of celebrity by modelling for high-end brands around the world. The blonde stirred controversy this year when she modelled Bvlgari’s ‘Happy Leaves’, which are none other than marijuana leaves. The daughter of Diana’s brother Charles, 9th Earl Spencer, shared the picture to Instagram, causing quite a stir with her fans. While it would have had the Queen snubbing the Spencers yet again, Lady Gabriella Windsor, 37, has had more than her fair share of drug use incidents and taking part in naked romps. The daughter of Prince and Princess Michael of Kent and 51st in line to the throne recently announced her engagement to Pippa Middleton’s ex, Thomas Kingston, although her most famous relationship was with Aatish Taseer, a writer who detailed his time spent with the royal, claiming they took ecstasy and swam naked.“for three surreal years Ella and I hung about Kensington Palace,” he said. “We swam naked in the Queen’s pool in Buckingham Palace, we did MDMA in Windsor Castle.”
