The Nest Cam IQ ($479) provides comprehensive coverage of a large area, and the 1080p HD quality is brilliant, even in the dead of night. The cam comes with an app which, based on your settings, can alert you to movement, noise or a face it doesn’t recognise. You can watch your home live from wherever you are and even talk through the inbuilt speakers to delivery drivers or unwanted guests. It can also double as a Google Home thanks to an integration with Google Assistant. Big thumbs-up from me.
