The multi-tasking entertainer shares her secrets on beauty and finding balance…
Can you tell us about the new beauty treatment you’re trying?
Ultherapy is a new treatment I’ve just recently had and I’m actually honoured to be their new brand ambassador. The thing that excited me is that they’re calling it the ‘nonsurgical facelift’ and tightening treatment … now I’m like ‘ hello’!
What do you mean by ‘non-surgical?’
It’s an ultrasound machine that stimulates the collagen under the surface layer of the skin. So it’s at the foundation level of the skin and this is the actual layer of the skin, that if you’re having an actual facelift, they would actually pull up. When they said that I thought this is unbelievable and too good to be true, but it’s an incredible procedure.
What’s the sensation like?
It’s very similar to other lasers and things like that. I think it’s one of the most phenomenal things I’ve done; it makes you feel younger. There’s no downtime so you can literally rock up in your lunch break, get it done, and go back to work.
Any other favourite treatments?
I do love a good facial and a good massage, but I think in the last 12 months I’ve felt like self-care has had to be a bit of a priority in my life, especially at the beginning of this year, things got a bit on top of me and I felt a bit overwhelmed. I had to stop and decide what was important and what was not, what to keep and what to get rid of, I really streamlined my life.
How do you take time for yourself?
Now I meditate every day, I also meditate with my kids and I get up at 5.30 to do yoga or Pilates. I feel like I’m a really different, more complete, calm person.
Is that your favourite form of exercise?
I really love Ashtanga yoga, I’m really loving that and then I do cardio tennis with my girlfriends.
How has motherhood changed you?
I feel like motherhood has changed me as a person and just in getting my priorities right.
