AN AUSSIE FAMILY FAVOURITE REVISITED

THIS REVAMPED ISLAND IS THE PERFECT GETAWAY FOR FAMILIES

-

After a $100 million redevelopment following Cylone Debbie in 2017, Daydream Island in the Whitsundays is set to finally reopen in 2019 and is offering the very best in island accommodation for families.

If lolling poolside is your main holiday pastime, there’s a great choice, with three separate pools offering views across the Great Barrier Reef: lounge by the absolute beachfront pool, the adjacent infinity pool or central lagoon style pool, which also has a kids’ area. Adults looking for some “me-time” will also have a private retreat to call their own with adults-only area and dedicated cabanas. There are also three restaurants and four bars to enjoy on the island.

With the Great Barrier Reef as your playground, you can choose to go on a snorkelling adventure at any time of the day or explore the island and surrounding Great Barrier Reef Marine Park by helicopter, sailboat or jet-ski. The kids’ club is a haven for children with an exciting range of activities on offer each day. Of course, you can also opt to do nothing at all but laze on the stunning beaches and daydream.

One of the highlights for all the family is the opportunity to join the team of marine biologists, who live on the island and feed baby stingrays that live among over 100 species of marine fish, coral and invertebrates on Daydream Island’s Living Reef, a which are free-form coral lagoons that course and wrap their way through the resort.
