Lauren Brant & Barry Hall

After a tumultuous year, the future is looking bright for the happy couple who finally have some special news to celebrate

IT’S BEEN A TOUGH 12 MONTHS FOR couple Lauren Brant and Barry Hall, but now the pair are back on track as they reveal the exciting news that they are expecting their second child.

“Yes, we’re 15 weeks pregnant! We have been trying for a baby so it’s great news, it’s a good time to give little Miller a little sibling,” Brant, 29, excitedly reveals.

“It was a bit stressful trying initially but everyone’s advice about not trying is good, because as soon as we stopped thinking about it, we got pregnant,” she adds.

Brant’s eyes light up as she reveals her baby’s gender exclusively to WHO.

“It’s a boy,” she says with a smile, adding he is

due on June 1, 2019. “I really wanted to have another boy, so he can play with Miller.”

Former AFL star Hall, 41, is equally thrilled although he was hoping for a little girl. “I wanted a little girl but we’re also mindful that it’s hard to have kids, so as long as it’s healthy, we’re happy,” he adds.

“Hopefully they can entertain each other. We’ve always had four kids planned, we’re so excited to have baby number two, but we’re super busy with Miller too,” he continues.

Hall in particular has had a tough year after falling from grace following those on-air comments earlier this year, but he says it’s all behind him now.

“I did some stuff on air that was inappropriate, it should have been taken off. I’ve claimed responsibility and it’s time to move on and I did lose a fair bit financially.

“I never meant to cause offence, I was trying to be funny and it just backfired on me. I felt the pressure to perform, but I’ve had some people stick by me, so I have some new opportunities and we’re moving back to Melbourne for my new career.”

After being shunned by radio, now Hall works four days a week in corporate finance and has managed to claw back from their financial hardship.

“We weren’t broke, but with a growing family I was really stressed.

“We still had our homes and weren’t homeless, but we were just worried for the kids,” Hall muses.

Brant believes, if anything, it’s made them stronger. “During that hard time, I really admired Barry for his soul searching so I did some searching of my own and I started to think, ‘what do I want to do?’”

Brant has plans to expand her girls’ clothing range, Loliboli for which she designs “pretty dresses perfect for play”.

“They took me six months to design and they are manufactured in Fiji which helps the poor local villages, so I feel good that we are giving something back to those who need it the most.” •
