PAT, 29, AND BIANCA, 32, VIC Frenemies

Pat is friends with Bianca’s brother, and even though the duo have a lovehate relationship, it was their shared passion for food that inspired them to enter the competition. “We both love to cook Italian food for our families and we thought what a great way to showcase our love of food, contrasting personalities and cooking styles to the rest of Australia,” Pat tells WHO.

MATT, 27 AND LUKE, 28, NSW Cricket mates

Newcastle pals Matt and Luke hope to knock the competition for six with their hardworking attitude. “Luke and I knew coming into this competition we weren’t the best cooks, but we wanted to be the hardest working,” Matt tells WHO.

LYN, 60, AND SAL, 52, SA Fabulous friends

When it comes to winning, Port Pirie friends Lyn and Sal have a plan. “Our style is to delegate jobs so that we are not tripping over each other,” says Lyn. “It’s best to work in the areas you are confident with.”

MILLY, 31, VIC, AND KAROLINA, 46, WA Perfect strangers

Foodies Milly and Karolina have never met, so what will these strangers bring to the table? “Given that we don’t know each other, I think we will draw interest from the public,” says Milly. “I also think we will be able to show people at home who felt like they couldn’t enter this competition because they didn’t have a partner that there is an option.”

ANNE, 46, AND JENNIFER, 46, VIC Psychic and cougar

Laid-back friends Anne and Jennifer will bring the laughs to the table but when it comes to their cooking, the other teams had better look out. “We will learn to be the best cooks. We have fighting spirits – we never give up, and are keen learners,” Anne said.

VERONICA,41, AND PIPER, 35, NSW Beauty queens

Don’t let their looks fool you, these pageant pals know a thing or two about cooking. “We have been putting in lots of practice,” says Piper. But, she admits that you’d better watch your head if Veronica’s, in the kitchen. “Sometimes her passion can fire her up and pots and pan can go flying.”

VICTOR, 28, AND G, 30, VIC Barmen

Self-appointed “chosen brothers” Victor and G are ready to turn the competition on its head. “I love challenging people’s ideas of the conventional,” admits Victor. “I like to test and push boundaries whether it’s with people or with cooking.”

LISA, 55, AND JOHN, 29, WA Mother and son

Doting mum Lisa taught her son John everything he knows in the kitchen. “When I was 12, my mum said [I wasn’t] going to be one of those useless blokes who didn’t know how to cook,” laughs John. “So she said I had to come up with something to cook and she would make sure I had the ingredients.”
