Chris Pratt and Katherine Schwarzenegger
Hollywood star Chris Pratt has announced his engagement to Katherine Schwarzenegger
THAT WAS QUICK. AFTER A whirlwind romance, actor Chris Pratt and girlfriend Katherine Schwarzenegger are off to the altar. The Jurassic World star took to Instagram to share the happy news of their engagement.
Pratt, 39, shared a photo of the couple hugging, as she showed off a huge diamond ring. “Sweet Katherine, so happy you said yes!” he posted on Jan. 14. “I’m thrilled to be marrying you. Proud to live boldly in faith with you. Here we go!”
Katherine, 29, is the eldest daughter of Terminator star Arnold Schwarzenegger and ex-wife Maria Shriver. One can only assume that, with Arnie as his father-inlaw, it will be “Hasta la vista” Pratt, if he doesn’t treat Katherine well.
The engagement comes after the couple confirmed their romance in July last year. A month earlier, they were photographed together on a cosy picnic in Santa Barbara, California.
While initially coy about their relationship, Pratt opened up about his love for Schwarzenegger on Instagram last year. On Schwarzenegger’s 29th birthday in December, Pratt wrote: “Happy Birthday Chief! Your smile lights up the room. I’ve cherished our time together. Thrilled God put you in my life. Thankful for the laughs, kisses, talks, hikes, love and care.”
The engagement comes just three months after Pratt finalised his divorce from actress Anna Faris, 42, after they split in August 2017 following nine years of marriage. Pratt and Faris share a son, 6-year-old Jack. Proving she is a good sport, Faris congratulated Pratt and Schwarzenegger on their big news. “I’m so happy for you both!!” she commented on Pratt’s photo. “Congratulations!”
Pratt and Faris have remained close since splitting. In October 2017, following the breakdown of their marriage, Faris told WHO: “It’s understandable that people seemed so invested in our happiness together. All I can say about that is, it’s all true, that we truly adore each other, and we love each other.”
Faris has also moved on, with cinematographer Michael Barrett.•
