Pregnant Jessica Simpson appears to reveal unborn daughter’s name
APREGNANT JESSICA Simpson is gearing up for baby No. 3. On Jan. 19, the singer and fashion designer held a baby shower for her unborn daughter. And she may just have revealed the name ahead of the delivery.
Simpson, 38, posed for photos with her family under a neon sign that read: “Birdie’s Nest”. Posting several shots from the baby shower on Instagram, Simpson also captioned the shots “Birdie’s Nest”. This has led many to assume Birdie is the name she and husband Eric Johnson, 39, have chosen for their baby girl.
And they could be on to something. There was a “Birdie” theme to the celebration, with Simpson posting a shot from the event’s table settings of a menu. The menu read, “A little Birdie told me … stuff your beaks.”
Simpson and Johnson, a former NFL player, married in 2014. They are already parents to daughter Maxwell, 6, and son, Ace, 5. The couple announced they were pregnant with their third child in September.
If they do name their little girl Birdie, they won’t be the first celebrities to choose the name. In 2008, actress Busy Philipps named her daughter Birdie Leigh.
Simpson can’t wait to meet her latest bundle of joy, especially as this pregnancy has not been easy on the former reality TV star. “Jess is feeling excited to meet this little girl,” a source told Us Weekly. “This has been her toughest pregnancy, so she is ready.”
Earlier this month, Simpson asked her Instagram fans whether they had any tips for swollen ankles. “Any remedies?!” she pleaded. “Help!!!!” Then, on Jan. 18, Simpson revealed she had tried cupping, posting a photo of her foot covered with three glass suction cups. Later, she captioned a pic of her foot with the caption “SKANKLES aka Skinny Ankles”.
In 2012, Simpson came under fire for the weight she put on during her pregnancy with Maxwell. •
