Sold to 140 different countries, the Foxtel prison drama was so popular in some parts of the world that overseas fans were downloading the show illegally as soon as it had aired in Australia to get their fix.
THE SLAP
Following its 2011 debut in Australia, the ABC series aired around the world. That was followed in 2015 by a US remake also starring Melissa George as the mother of a child struck at a backyard party.
DOCTOR DOCTOR
Another recent export, the Nine Network medical dramedy currently screens in the US and parts of Europe and the Middle East, but has been renamed The Heart Guy internationally.
RAKE
Like The Slap, the Richard Roxburgh legal series was remade (starring Greg Kinnear) for the US, but has also proved popular internationally in its original form, which has been sold to 165 territories.
