MKR feud explodes Josh and Austin are set to cause the biggest fight in MKR history 2019
Josh and Austin on why they don’t want to make friends
If you thought Christian home-schooled brothers Josh and Austin were bad during Group 1’s Instant Restaurants, then be warned, because you ain’t seen nothing yet! According to the controversial contestants themselves, they are set to unleash warfare on Group 2 now that the teams have come together for the
challenge part of the competition. “We weren’t there to make friends,” Josh tells WHO. “It was a once in a lifetime opportunity. This was the Olympics of cooking so you’ve got to do everything you can.”
According to 25-year-old Josh, “there’s a psychological difference between Group 2 and Group 1”.
Things got off to a rocky start immediately when the two groups came face to face for the first time. “See, I told you, vanilla,” Josh tells his group.
“Group 2 looks like catalogue models.” Not one to sweep things under the rug, Bianca wasn’t shy about her true feelings for the boys: “Josh and Austin, little s--ts,” she said.
With Josh and Austin switching their targets from Group 1 to their new rivals Group 2, their fellow competitors noticed a change in attitude immediately.
“Our Instant Restaurant round, they [Josh and Austin] were horrible, they were painful,” Group 1’s Andy says.
“Ruby gets really influenced by energies and she was really affected to the point where she was like, ‘I can’t do this anymore, Andy’. And I was like, ‘Just chill, don’t let them get to you’.
“And then they changed. We got to really know them and realised they just want attention. They became less ruthless towards us, they changed.”
While it may seem to Group 1 and viewers at home that Josh and Austin have called a truce with their original group, the Sydney siblings had other reasons for easing up on their abuse.
“We broke Group 1,” Austin, 22, admits. Josh, agreeing, continues: “Yeah, I would say that me and Austin kind of broke Group 1. I’m not joking. There was so much psychology on and off camera between me and Austin and the rest of Group 1, and they spent so much time hating us and creating so much bad energy between us and them that none of them hung out, they all stuck to themselves. Especially when Group 1 met Group 2, a lot happened.”
Josh says Chris and Lesley, the first team to leave Group 1 after the Instant Restaurant rounds, were victims of their behind-the-scenes mind games.
“Chris and Lesley cracked it,” Josh says. “Lesley went full Vietnam War by the end of her time on the competition.
“She was like, ‘This is an experiment, they’re effing with us and you’ve got to stay strong, you’ve got to outsmart them.’ And then they were eliminated.”
