KAILO WELLNESS MEDISPA, BRISBANE

- By Amy Mills

If there was ever a space to enjoy some quality time with your mother, it’s at this chic Brisbane newcomer. Located on the pool deck of the hip urban resort that is the Calile Hotel on the James Street strip in Fortitude Valley, Kailo is a warm and luxurious space to relax and reset.

I’m greeted by friendly staff and as I sit down to fill out the consultation forms, a therapist brings me a tray with a glass of water, some almonds, a rose quartz crystal and a hot towel. Like the rest of the hotel, the considered interiors of the spa are a dream with a calming colour palette of millennial pinks, terracotta and pops of greenery.

My treatment room is filled with natural light and my therapist Isobella – who has luminous skin, I might add – explains the benefits of my Rose Quartz Spa Facial, ($139) a performance spa facial targeting firmness, lines and wrinkles using Spaceuticals by Waterlily products. For the next 60 minutes, I feel utterly pampered as my skin is cleansed, exfoliated and hydrated with a plasma repair crème, a combination of cosmeceutical actives and botanical and naturopathic concentrates. When she wasn’t working her magic on my face, Isobella massaged my head and hands until I was close to falling into a deep, blissful sleep.

Aside from spa and beauty treatments, Kailo also offers both holistic treatments and medical aesthetics, led by Cosmetic Medicine Specialist Dr Edwina Morgan. There are also exclusive Wellness Pods available for those who want to share the experience with their mother, or significant other.
