Inspiring TRANSFORMA­TION

The night before she joined Vision PT, Vivienne Manzano, 39, from Wollongong, had a dream that she joined the gym and had a life transforma­tion. “Joining Vision Personal Training was a no-brainer, really. I had heard great things about the staff, and it’s a really inviting community.”

So with her dream and a goal of feeling more confident, she has managed to lose a staggering 20kg.

Before starting her transforma­tion, Manzano was unhappy, but didn’t realise. “It wasn’t until I discovered exercise – particular­ly running, which really does make me happy! Back then, I relied on food for comfort and happiness.” It’s a story a lot of us share. “Before joining Vision PT, I never took part in a diet or nutrition plan. I honestly didn’t know where to start. I would just wear baggy, loose-fitting clothes and avoid thinking about it.”

Training and losing weight has been a big emotional journey for Manzano. After a good friend of hers passed away, she used food and cigarettes to block the pain.

“I believe food suppressed my grief and emotions, which were only set free when I began my weight-loss journey.”

Today, Manzano is a changed woman. “I never get sick of broccoli, I love it!”

Her favourite meal is the Vision green smoothie. “It contains cucumber, vanilla protein powder, spinach, banana, almonds and water.

It’s satisfying and really tasty.”

Since getting her health on track, Manzano has experience­d amazing results as a mum. “I was only able to breastfeed my first daughter, Natalia, for four months. But I’m still breastfeed­ing Johanna, 11 months on. I certainly believe this is due to a healthier diet and regular exercise. Looking after myself has not only benefited me but also my family.”
