The reality-TV fan favourite reveals her boyfriend is ready to be a daddy

- By Abi Moustafa ■

LOVE ISLAND’S TAYLA Damir was played a fool in front of the nation when she won the first series of the show with Grant Crapp, but now almost a year later the reality star has found herself in a better place – after falling in love with a fellow contestant, Dom Thomas. The 22-year-old spoke to WHO and opened up about their romance, the possibility of children and heading back to TV.

You were recently on Talkin’ ’Bout Your Generation – how was it being on the show?

It was so much fun. Honestly, it was probably one of my favourite TV experiences I’ve done since coming off Love Island. Everyone was really good. I loved it.

Would you head back onto TV full-time?

Oh, definitely. I loved it. I’ve done a journalism broadcasting degree so there’s still quite a few talks in terms of keeping me around on TV screens. But on Talkin’ ’Bout Your Generation – the entire night I was laughing to the point where once the show ended my mouth hurt from laughing so much.

Someone else who keeps you chuckling is Dom. How is he?

He’s really good! He’s just gone to his family in Canberra, I was meant to go with him, but I’ve got the flu and I figured I can’t be there coughing all over his family.

Do you get along with his family?

I love his family, they’re beautiful people.

Does Dom get along with your family?

I’m half Lebanese. He gets along with all my family although we’re a bit crazy at times. He fits in well.

Has anyone put any pressure on you guys to get married?

God, no. I’m 22! That’s not happening anytime soon.

Do you think that Dom is ‘the one’?

Yeah, I mean I wouldn’t be with him if I didn’t.

Do you think he’d be a good dad?

Oh, he is so clucky it’s not even funny. We will be walking down the street and he will be like, “I reckon if we had a kid our kid will look like this.” I’d have to say, “OK, well, we’re not, so let’s just wait until the time comes.” [Laughs]

That’s a good sign, though, right? That he wants kids?

It is, isn’t it!

Talkin’ ‘Bout Your Generation airs Wed, 7.30 on Channel 9.
