Hemsworth serves divorce papers just weeks after split
LIAM HEMSWORTH FILED FOR divorce from his wife of less than one year Miley Cyrus in Los Angeles citing “irreconcilable differences” on August 22. “She didn’t expect it and is a bit disappointed,” a Cyrus insider tells WHO. “It’s just hard for her to think that she will never have this again with Liam. There are really so many things that she loves about him.”
Hemsworth, 29, has been lying low in Byron Bay, NSW, with his brother Chris, where they have been doing “plenty of surfing and soul-searching”, a source told Radar Online, adding that he’s trying to “figure out his next move” which may include a permanent move home. “This whole experience has really reinforced to Liam that Hollywood’s not for him in the long term.”
A day after the filing, Cyrus posted a series of 11 tweets, where she slammed cheating allegations surrounding the breakdown of their marriage. “I can accept that the life I’ve chosen means I must live completely open and transparent with my fans who I love, and the public, 100% of the time. What I cannot accept is being told I’m lying to cover up a crime I haven’t committed. I have nothing to hide,” she wrote in her first tweet.
“It is no secret that I was into partying in my teens and early 20s. I have not only smoked, but advocated for weed, I’ve experimented with drugs, my biggest song to date is about dancing on molly and snorting lines in the bathroom,” said Cyrus about her song ‘We Can’t Stop’.
Her tweets that followed contained many revelations from her early years including that she had a history of infidelity in past relationships. “I f--ked up and cheated in relationships when I was young,” she wrote. In addition, she recalled moments in her personal life that affected her professional life. “I lost a massive Walmart deal at 17 for ripping a bong,” Cyrus tweeted, referring to her cancelled clothing line with the retailer. She added, “There are probably more nudes of me on the internet than maybe any woman in history.”
But Cyrus emphasised that she did not cheat on Hemsworth. “The truth is, once Liam & I reconciled, I meant it, & I was committed... I can admit to a lot of things but I refuse to admit that my marriage ended because of cheating. Liam and I have been together for a decade. I’ve said it before & it remains true, I love Liam and always will.”
