AUSTRALIA HAS NO SHORTAGE OF BEAUTIFUL PLACES WHERE YOU CAN SOAK UP NATURE – JUST TAKE YOUR PICK

1

HEYSEN TRAIL, ADELAIDE, SA The Heysen trail runs for 1200km so don’t attempt to do it all at once. About half an hour drive from Adelaide CBD, Mount Lofty Circuit is a 7.5km loop that takes you through the botanic gardens and includes the Mt Lofty Summit. There are plenty of half and full day loops to do. Head to heysentrail.asn.au.

2

MANLY TO SPIT BRIDGE WALK, SYDNEY, NSW Ancient Aboriginal carvings and harbour views make the Manly to Spit Bridge one of Sydney’s must-do walks. It’s 10km, taking 3.5 to 5 hours depending on your pace. May to November is prime whale spotting season so keep your peepers on the view. Visit sydneycoastwalks. com.au.

3

MINYON FALLS, NEAR BYRON BAY, NSW This 3-5 hour walk takes you through the rainforests of the Byron hinterland, which can be a great way to cool off in summer. It can get slippery in wet weather and there’s a high chance you’ll come across leeches, so be prepared and cover your legs and wear long socks.

4

MOUNT COOLUM SUNRISE HIKE, QLD If you’re on the Sunshine Coast, set your alarm and head out early to catch the sunrise from Mount Coolum. This short but steep trail can get busy so pack your patience and a water bottle and keep your eye on the spectacular view. The trail is mostly stairs but you’ll be rewarded at the top.

5

WILSON’S PROMONTORY, VIC Roughly 200km east of Melbourne, you can hike parts of Wilson’s Promontory at all times of year. Especially beautiful in summer, the glistening ocean and beachfront campsites offer the perfect respite (and more chance to soak up nature’s positive energy) after taking in all that Vitamin N.
