The stronger-thanever single mum contends with trolls — and considers taking back Tristan
Back home from a family holiday in the Bahamas, Khloé Kardashian was back in work mode on September 3, photographed leaving a studio in Calabasas, Los Angeles. Fresh from filming scenes for Season 17 of Keeping Up With the Kardashians, she flaunted her flat abs in a pink corset and distressed jeans, and carried her monogrammed Louis Vuitton bag. Having already shared her 6am workout on Instagram stories, she also snapped a selfie from inside the studio. “Healthy and hydrated,” she posted, but it wasn’t her figure or healthy glow that fans noticed. “To her face … may you rest in peace,” one user wrote. Another added: “God your face has so many surgeries it’s overwhelming.” Whether or not she’s had work done (see box over page), Kardashian, 35, has made it clear that after a tumultuous year in her
personal life, working on herself has indeed become a top priority. “This summer I have been focused on ME,” the Revenge Body star posted from her holiday in the Bahamas with 1-year-old daughter True on August 18. “Me from within. Mind. Body. Soul.”
Kardashian’s then-boyfriend, basketball player Tristan Thompson, 28, first allegedly cheated on the star just days before she gave birth to True in April 2018. Though they reconciled, their relationship never fully recovered — and it’s been over for good since Thompson kissed
Kardashian’s long-time family friend, 21-yearold Jordyn Woods, in February. Since then, however, sources tell WHO that the exes have come a long way.
“After everything they’ve been through, things have finally gotten to a calmer place,” says one source, adding “neither would completely rule out a reconciliation down the line.”
To that end, Britain’s The Sun Online reports that Thompson has splashed out US$500,000 (A$729,000) on a Porsche to win back his ex, with a source allegedly telling the website that rapper Drake has become Thompson’s “sounding board” as he plots his return back into the famous family.
“Drake told him to pull out all the stops if he wanted to win Khloé back,” the insider continued, adding that the move scored him an invite to dinner at home with his ex and daughter. “Tristan wants to be a good, present dad to True,” the source tells WHO. “He’s committed to raising her in a loving environment and also wants to be in a good place with Khloé.” A second source, however, indicated that
Kardashian would never take Thompson back after being betrayed twice.
Speaking to Us Weekly about navigating co-parenting with Thompson, Kardashian said, “I definitely take a lot of learning [and] tips from Scott and Kourtney,” referring to her older sister and her ex, Scott Disick, who split in July 2015 after having three children together: Mason, 9, Penelope, 7, and Reign, 4. “They do such a seamless job at it, but I’m still … fresh.”
In the end, after all the scandal, Kardashian said in a September 6 interview with On Air with Ryan Seacrest, “I’m not someone who holds a grudge. If I do that, it’s only going to affect me. I know everybody makes mistakes. I think it’s how you handle it, and I think apologies need to be as loud as your disrespect was or to me, it’s not sincere. I’m forgiving. I’m forgiven.”
“Khloé is great. Her heartbreak seems to have passed, and her mood is much lighter,” another source tells WHO. “Everyone is happy to see her happier.” And stronger than ever. The Good American designer has been showing off her fitness prowess for years (she dropped more than 18kg in 2015) and has kept up her workouts with longtime trainer Joël Bouraïma, losing the almost 20kg she gained while pregnant with True. Her home gym workouts feature burpees, planks, squat pulses and treadmill side steps with a resistance band. “She’s very motivated,” Bouraïma tells WHO. “She’s proud of herself. And she uses workouts to feel better. If she feels bad, she does a workout and boom!
She feels better.”
