KYLIE & TRAVIS Inside their split

After a whirlwind romance, the celebrity couple call it quits – but they’re ‘still friends’

Cosying up on the red carpet for the premiere of his Netflix documentary, Travis Scott: Look Mom I Can Fly, Scott and his partner, Kylie Jenner – fresh from a romantic holiday in Europe to celebrate Jenner’s 22nd birthday – presented a picture of loved-up bliss. The couple, who share 20-month-old daughter, Stormi, had been talking about taking the next step in their relationship, discussing marriage and reportedly trying for a second baby.

But in a shock move on October 3, the celebrity pair revealed they were taking a break from their two-year-old relationship, with sources telling WHO that Scott, 28, had moved out of the home they shared “a couple of weeks ago”.

So just what occurred in the ensuing weeks to change the course of their seemingly perfect relationship? “They still have some trust issues but their problems have stemmed more from the stress of their lifestyles,” according to one source. “They are taking some time, but not done.”

Added to the stress of living out their relationship in the celebrity spotlight were rumours of cheating. Responding to reports he had cheated on Jenner, Scott wrote on his Instagram Stories on October 4: “It’s really affecting when u see false things said about u once again these false stories about me cheating are just simply not true.” He added: “Focusing on life, music, and family at this moment is what’s real.”

Jenner confirmed the couple

– whose relationship switched from friends to lovers after they caught up at a Coachella party in April 2017 – remained friends and were committed to co-parenting Stormi. “Travis and I are on great terms,” she tweeted on October 3. “Our main focus right now is Stormi. Our friendship and our daughter is priority.”

The 22-year-old was also quick to shut down reports that she had spent time with her ex Tyga in the early hours of October 2 after photos emerged of her friends at a recording studio the rapper was using. “The internet makes everything 100 times more dramatic than what it really is. There was no ‘2am date with Tyga,’ ” she tweeted. “You see me drop two of my friends off at a studio that he happened to be at.”

The rumours resurfaced days later when Jenner and her sister Khloé Kardashian were spotted together at a Los Angeles nightclub where Tyga (and Kardashian’s ex-husband, Lamar Odom) was also partying. The rapper left the Hyde Lounge in West Hollywood an hour after the sisters arrived at 1am. But a source tells WHO that Jenner and Tyga are simply “friends”.

“There is really no reason to believe that Kylie is interested in any more with Tyga,” says the source. “She isn’t totally finished with Travis and it does seem she hopes they can somehow find a spark again. She is definitely in no rush to date again.”

For Jenner and Scott, “the spark” reportedly faded under the stress of differing lifestyle priorities, with Jenner more focused on family life and wanting a second baby, and Scott immersing himself in his flourishing music career. “She still has trust issues with Travis. He hasn’t been giving her the commitment that she needs,” another source told WHO on October 2. “Travis isn’t ready to give her all that she wants.”

In the meantime, the high-achieving Jenner – who founded Kylie Cosmetics in 2015 and became the youngest self-made billionaire at the age of 21 earlier this year – continues to show a maturity beyond her years. While a source tells WHO that Jenner takes relationship inspiration from her sister Kim Kardashian West’s marriage to Kanye West (“Kylie looks up to Kim and really wants what she has with Kanye”), it appears a well-adjusted Jenner is confidently managing her new life circumstance.

Amid the glare of media attention surrounding her split from Scott, she remains focused on her daughter, posting a sweet video on October 4 of Stormi playing on a new swing set Jenner bought for her. As the little toddler baulks at crossing a bridge on the play equipment, Jenner encourages her every step of the way, telling Stormi, “You got it!” Posting the clip on Instagram, Jenner captioned it: “Nothing better than being someone’s mommy.”

A source says Jenner and Scott “are both great parents” who remain focused on their daughter. “They don’t want their split to affect Stormi. As soon as they felt they

“She is totally finished with Travis”

couldn’t figure out their issues, they decided to separate so their disagreements won’t affect Stormi,” the source said.

“They are both young, but smart when it comes to their relationship.”
