Jacqui Richards, 49, from Rouse Hill, NSW, was looking to change her career and needed to get her BMI under 30 to pass the entry test. Before signing up with Catalyst PHD she was out of shape and unhappy. “I’d trained with Jeff [Laurence] at Catalyst PHD before and I knew if I wanted to lose weight, transform my body and become fit, I needed his help!” Sitting at a desk every day had left Jacqui inactive and depressed. “I was doing no more than 3000 steps per day and no exercise.” Fortunately her boss, who saw how depressed she was, hired her a work coach. “The coach was my starting point in helping me find my confidence again, and to step up and out.” That initial career coaching was the kickstart she needed to get her on track, helping her recognise that being active and happy was missing from her life. Once she started training with Catalyst PHD she got her mojo back. “On my own, at my age, the weight loss and fitness I needed to achieve would not have been possible without the help I received from Jeff.”

Having a personal trainer was a driving force in getting Richards to where she wanted to be. “He made me push hard and be accountable. He weighed me each week, measured my body and did fitness testing each month.” And all that training has paid off. Jacqui has lost over 20kg and dropped from a dress size 16 to a 10.

She’s also changed what she eats. “One of my favourite lunches is canned tuna and salad or grilled fish and salad. I always include small amounts of avocado and feta too.” Reclaiming her fitness has been transformational for Jacqui and she couldn’t be happier. “Jeff is a caring, knowledgeable man who deeply wants to understand you and your needs to help you achieve your goals. This is his mission in life!” Jacqui is especially proud of the way her newfound fitness has helped her make that career change she wanted and she’s never looking back. “I’m now in my chosen physical profession at 49!” Seeing a work coach was her starting point but Catalyst PHD and her own determination has gotten Jacqui to a whole new level and a brand new career.

“What keeps me going is being lean and healthy, wearing clothes each day where I feel great. All the compliments I am receiving, plus, the centimetres I have lost around my whole body.”
